My teaching experiences are varied. I've worked with Kazakhstani kindergarteners, Liberian highschoolers, and in-coming American Peace Corps Volunteers of all ages. In the University setting, I have taught a range of classes at a range of levels (full course list below), including Intro to Political Economy as the lead instructor and multiple graduate-level quantitative methods classes as a TA. In 2017, I was named "Best TA" in the University of Washington Department of Political Science.
My goal as a teacher is to build courses and classes that are focused on student achievement. In pursuit of this aim, my teaching philosophy is to practice pedagogy that is goal oriented, student-centered, clear, intellectually challenging, skill-enhancing, inclusive, and linked to real world events.
